Frank Turner, Suede and De La Soul have been confirmed among the first batch of artists for this year’s Kendal Calling festival.
The award winning event is back for its ninth year on August 1 - 3 at Lowther Deer Park in the Lake District, after scooping Best Medium Sized Festival at The UK Festival Awards for last year’s effort.
Also on the line up is Happy Mondays, Clean Bandit, Newton Faulkner, 2ManyDJ’s and Lancaster dance music duo Bondax, with many more to be confirmed as the summer approaches.
The three day event takes place across eight stages over three days and nights, with music, art, comedy, poetry, real ale, a vast array of food, site art and stalls all ensuring all tastes are catered for.
Other confirmations so far include Razorlight, Tom Odell, Athlete, Rudimental collaborator Ella Eyre, and Mr Scruff.
This year’s fancy dress theme is Kendal Calling Goes Beyond The Stars.
New for 2014 for Thursday night revellers, Craig Charles Funk and Soul Club take over featuring a hand picked line up by Craig himself.
Thursday will feature Chai Wallah’s and the Real Ale festival will be open for pre festival shenanigans.
Tickets for Kendal Calling are priced £119, with 11-15 year olds at £60 and under 10s free, from.kendalcalling.co.uk/tickets.
