Isaac Lowe has vowed to stick to his boxing in his bid to make Lancaster and Morecambe fight history.

The Westgate Warrior takes on Lee Glover for the English featherweight title in Blackburn on Saturday night, becoming the first man in the district to fight for a national crown in more than 30 years.

Lowe says he has been put through the toughest few weeks of his life by trainer Bob Howard.

The unbeaten 21-year-old said: “This is the hardest camp I’ve been in in my life.

“Bob’s pushed me to the limit and I’ve had world-class sparring.

“Jamie McDonnell, his brother (Gavin), Josh Warrington, I’ve done a couple of rounds with Maxi Hughes so I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

“I’ve been getting fitter and stronger and trying not to be the typical Isaac who’s going to fight like a raving idiot.

“I’m going to try and stick to boxing and try and keep my head.”
