Triathlon: Rhys continues fine form in Chester

City of Lancaster Triathlon athletes were in action at the DEVA Junior Aquathlon at Christleton near Chester.

Rhys Ashton, 9, put in another superb performance to win the Tristar 1 boys with a time of 7:56 for his 150m swim and 1,200m run with team mate Thomas Dowthwaite coming in joint second.

In Tristar 2 girls, Lydia Shenton reinforced her position within the championships with a solid second place missing out on gold by just two seconds. Lydia completed her 250m swim and 1,600m run in 11:24.

In Tristar 3, Ben Winterburn continued his strong performance seen in both the pool and track over the last few months with an excellent fifth.

Also competing with strong results were Sasha Oldham in Tristar 2 (eighth, 13:04), Kirsty Maher in Tristar 1, (eighth, 10:14), Ffion Ashton in Tristar 3 (10th, 19:39) and Emma Holden in Tristar 3 (22nd, 22:55).
