Lancaster Tennis Club’s under 14 squad enhanced their title chances with victory in their top of the table clash at St Annes on Sunday.

Captain Dan Main and doubles partner Elliot Gardner led the way in the 4-2 Fylde League victory with a straight sets win and they then both played to a very high standard in beating their singles opponents.

Reuben Orr was unlucky to lose his singles match and picked up an injury in a fall.

However his doubles partner Adam Hill had already won his singles match in a tense three-set battle which ended 11-9 in the deciding tie break.

Reuben bravely appeared for the doubles with Adam but they lost a close match against two strong St Annes players.

Next up is a home match at Lune Rd against Moorland from Poulton-le-Fylde at 2pm this Saturday.

The club held a junior mixed doubles event followed by a BBQ on Saturday with 18 childen aged between six and 14 taking part.

This Sunday, June 29, between 2pm and 4pm, Lune Road will host an open day where visitors can try out tennis for free and talk to coaches about summer holiday coaching sessions.
