Lancaster Tennis Club’s under 14 squad have embarked on a fresh challenge this season by entering the higher standard Fylde League.
The opening three matches have shown the trio are up for the test, winning two and drawing one against teams with a much longer history of junior tennis competition.
Captain Dan Main has been joined in the squad by Reuben Orr, Ronan McGrath, Elliot Gardner, Nathaniel Wilkinson and Joel McAllister in playing these matches with a team of four playing each week.
Lancaster started off with a confident 6-0 victory at Wrea Green before a 3-3 draw at home to St Annes.
They raised their game last Saturday by clinching a tense 4-2 victory away to last season’s champions Moorland from Poulton-le-Fylde.
Next up for the boys is a home fixture against Lytham this Saturday, May 17, as they seek to extend their lead at the top of the league table.
