Carnforth Otters returned a fantastic series of results over two weekends of action in Blackpool at the North Lancs Age Groups and Championships.

A group of 42 swimmers represented the club and between them won 68 podium place badges and swam 204 personal best times.

As a result, 30 of the team qualified for the Lancashire County Championships in March and 12 achieved North West Regional Qualifying times.

Competing for the first time at the Age Groups were nine-year-olds Alice Sands, Rhys Aston and George Cookson who kicked off their swimming careers in fine style with some excellent swims across the four days.

The Open boys group of Josh Thompson, William Ritchie and Alasdair Fairhurst sealed a one, two, three finish in the 400m Freestyle with Bill Timpany and Toa Smith finishing fourth and sixth in what was a fantastic race for the Otters.

BAGCAT winners for top overall swimmers in each age group were Alice Sands, Connor Sisson, Sunni Rich, Aimee Banks and Jess Shatford.

For the third year in a row, Carnforth also won the Bob Marshall Trophy for the top performing Club in the Championship events.
