Sponsors win City shirt lottery - again!

LANCASTER City's shirts will again be sponsored by Lakeland Lettings after the company won the club draw for the second year running on Friday.

The estate agent's name was the first of the 31 companies to be drawn out by Mayor Coun Keith Budden at The Dolly Blue Tavern.

The company will have their name on the front of the shirts while Supaskips will be on the back and Lancaster and Morecambe College on the shorts.

The Reserve team shirts will have Venture Caravan Park on the front and MP Haulage on the back with Sun Hotel and Bar on the shorts.

Lakeland Lettings' joint director Mark Knight was surprised - but happy - with the result.

He said: "I couldn't believe we came out first again.

"It's been great to be associated with Lancaster City Football Club and to see our name in the paper all the time on the shirts.

"The club has had a new beginning and with a lot of good, local people involved, I hope they can be pushing for promotion this season.

"The club needs the support of local businesses and I would certainly encourage more of the estate agents like ourselves to back the club and see the benefits."

City will be wearing a new kit this season, produced by Prostar. The blue kit was on display on Friday.

As well as club officials and sponsors, manager Barrie Stimpson was present with club captain Michael Stringfellow and vice-captain Neil Uberschar.
