Skerton Amateur Boxing Club celebrated the opening of their new premises in style on Sunday afternoon.
Boxing clubs from all over the country converged at the gym in Langdale Business Park on White Lund Industrial Estate in Morecambe for a day of open club sparring.
More than 100 of the country’s top amateur boxers took their turn in the ring to showcase their skills against the Skerton boxers as the club moved into the gym formally used by the Lancaster Boxing Academy.
Preston’s Commonwealth Games gold medalist Scott Fitzgerald and Morecambe’s heavyweight star Tyson Fury both popped in to lend their support with Fury taking time to train some of the youngsters.
Coaches Paul Fielding and John Varey were on hand on Sunday to oversee the sparring and interact with members of the public who turned up to take a look around.
Skerton currently have six North West belt holders in their ranks with the new season getting underway with a bumper show on Friday, September 12, at the Trimpell Club on Out Moss Lane, Morecambe.
Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are £15.
Many of the former Lancaster Boxing Academy fighters who have moved over to Skerton will be in action.
The club is open to young people from age eight upwards and offers boxing coaching for beginners up to the highest competitive level in the North West of England.
