Heysham’s Jack Senior missed the cut at his first event of the year in India.
The Walker Cup star, starting his first full year on the second tier Challenge Tour, finished four over par after two rounds meaning he didn’t qualify for Saturday and Sunday’s final rounds at The Gujarat Kensville Challenge in Ahmedabad.
The 24-year-old started Thursday’s opening round solidly enough but a back nine of 41 saw him shoot a four over par round of 76.
Knowing he had plenty of work to do to make the weekend, Senior birdied four of his first six holes to claw himself back to level par, but he struggled again on the homeward nine, to post a 72, meaning he missed the cut.
Senior is next in action at The Barclays Kenya Open on February 14.
