New changing rooms un-Valed

VALE of Lune’s new changing rooms were officially opened ahead of the Kirkby Lonsdale fixture by Kevin Roberts,
CEO worldwide for advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, chairman of USA
Rugby and a former Vale player.

After the game, President Dave Bennetts presented Kevin with a club blazer and Club Captain Lee Acton presented him with Honorary Life Membership of a club that Kevin had represented at all levels upwards from Colts to the first team.

In response, Kevin spoke fondly of his memories playing at the Vale and the huge debt he owed to Norman Ellis who brought him down to the club.

He remembered his days as a young man working with John Gill at Storeys and also at The Lancastrian, whilst bringing up a family.

In addition he said he was proud of his association with the Vale and as he wrote in the match programme: “I have now come full circle – back to the Vale.”
