Lancaster City Swimming Club set new record at Blackpool Rocks gala

A fantastic team effort from Lancaster City Swimming Club at the Blackpool Rocks gala saw them record 99 personal bests from 127 events, a new record for the club.

Elizabeth Wareing, 10, was in sensational form and never off the podium with six gold medals, one silver and a bronze from nine events.

She also won the award for best 10-year-old girl and achieved six personal bests.

Macy Evans had an excellent gala with a full set of personal bests from 12 events taking significant time off all her events.

Rhianna Sissons also had a great gala with a full set of personal bests from nine events including taking a massive 24 seconds off her 200m breaststroke time to finish fourth overall.

In-form 12-year-old Daniel Leach put in a series of great swims to win two bronze medals and get four good personal bests with nine-year-old Jasmine Robson competing well to achieve two personal bests.

Hannah Eaton was consistently quick over the weekend with seven excellent personal bests from eight races including many top-10 finishes.

Another regular visitor to the winner’s podium was Isaac Quarry with two golds, a silver and bronze from four events, taking four seconds off his 100IM personal best.

Marcus Robinson won bronze in the 200m backstroke with some excellent personal bests in the 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle.

Connor Sissons got four personal bests from five events and was impressive in the 200m freestyle taking nearly seven seconds off his previous best time.

Aidan Duffin had a great gala with eight personal bests, three silver and two bronze medals, while Malachy Duffin was equally impressive with a gold, silver and bronze medal to add to eight personal bests and was never out of the top 10 in his races.

Ten-year-old Anan Clarke achieved four personal bests in his events and was particularly impressive in the freestyle and backstroke.

Abbie Catlow and Charlotte Peacock both had good swims with several personal bests while Georgia Wilson achieved some great times and personal bests in her four events and was especially quick in the 50m freestyle.

Emily Wilson achieved five excellent personal bests from six events with Katie Wilson getting some good times and personal bests in all her races.

Harry Shaw was in great form with nine personal bests and multiple top-10 finishes from his 11 races.

Amy Peacock won silver in the 200m butterfly with three personal bests and Celina Hart had personal bests in all of her events.
