Brave Catlow just misses out on victory

SKERTON ABC enjoyed more success last weekend in the North West Schoolboy Championships in Manchester.

Taking part were six young boxers representing the club in the elite competition for boxers from across the UK.

First up saw Jack Catlow taking on a very strong and vastly experienced opponent.

Jack came out with only one thing in mind, that was to make sure his opponent knew he was in for a war.

The first round was a very closely fought battle with both boxers scoring heavy blows.

It was much the same in the second round with the scores close.

In the final round Jack showed courage and skill beyond his years and fought like a champion, but at the final bell the decision went against him in what was a very close bout.
