Morecambe’s League 2 game at Rochdale is on despite heavy rain across the North West.

The Spotland pitch was deemed fit for play on Saturday after inspections at 10am, noon and 1pm.

Lancaster City’s Evo-Stik First Division North game at Darlington on Saturday has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch however.

After heavy rain throughout the week, the Heritage Park pitch was deemed unfit for play after an early morning pitch inspection.

The cancellation means Darren Peacock’s Dolly Blues have played just one away game in the last seven weeks.

In rugby union, the big North One West derby between Kirkby Lonsdale and the Vale of Lune also fell foul of the bad weather.
