BENTHAM rally driver David Wright will head to the Malcolm Wilson Rally this weekend keen to build on his excellent result on the opening round of the BTRDA Championship when he finished fourth overall and first in class.
Wright and co-driver Michael Wilkinson will be contesting the Cockermouth-based event in their GPM Mitsubishi Evo 9 with support from Proflex, Drenth, Kumho Tyres and Grove Hill Garage.
The Malcolm Wilson Rally is round two of the BTRDA Championship and from the start in Cockermouth the crews will contest seven stages in the forests of the Lake District including the well known forests of Comb, Wythop and Grizedale.
Meanwhile Dave Edwards from Bolton-le-Sands will contest the event in his Vauxhall Astra. Edwards has not competed since he finished the all-Tarmac Mull Rally last October.
Edwards will be partnered by Caroline Lodge from Brampton.The event will start from Cockermouth High Street at 8.30am on Saturday with the successful crews arriving back in Cockermouth from 4pm.
