Three Vale of Lune members have won coveted volunteer awards from the Lancashire Rugby Football Union.

Peter and Stuart have been Press Secretary and Assistant Press Secretary at the club for more than 36 years, while Dave has been responsible for many building improvements at Vale.

More recently he took charge of the work to build new disabled facilities at the clubhouse.

As well as helping Stuart with the media duties, Peter has also been the club’s gateman for the past 25-years.

David Hodgson, himself a Vale member, said: “Stuart, Dave and Peter typify the very best of volunteering.

“These awards recognise Lancashire’s appreciation of all the hard work done by these unsung heroes.”
