Vale of Lune seconds suffered their second Premier League defeat of the season going down to Sandbach 2 at Powderhouse Lane on Saturday.

The Cheshire side prevailed 29-8 with the Vale points being a Chris Thomas try and Neil Walker’s first-half penalty goal.

There is another treat is in store at Powderhouse Lane this Saturday when unbeaten Kirkby Lonsdale, who are third in North One West, will be the visitors for a first-team fixture. Kick-off is 3pm.

The night before, Friday, September 18, England open their Rugby World Cup campaign against Fiji with the game being shown at Powderhouse Lane.

A fish and chip supper is being served between 5pm and 7pm with the game kicking off at 8pm.
