Vale of Lune head coach Paul Woodward has warned his side they need to start winning again or they run the risk of slipping down the North One West table.

After a weekend off Wilmslow are the visitors to Powderhouse Lane this Saturday, February 8, as the hosts look to end a run of six games without a victory.

The Cheshire side are five places behind Vale in 10th but only five points separate the sides in what is a congested mid-table pack.

Woodward said: “It’s getting quite tight now.

“There’s a bit of pressure on because there’s three or four teams in there and if we don’t start winning we’re going to get lower and lower in the table.”

The head coach has challenged his refreshed side to get back to winning ways this weekend and hopes memories of the 21-21 draw at Wilmslow back in October will drive his side on.

He said: “We’ve had one or two knocks in key positions from previous weeks so it was good to have the weekend off.

“The draw at Wilmslow is one we want to put right.

“A few decisions didn’t go our way and one helped them get the draw in the end.”

“That should be an extra incentive but more than anything it’s about getting back to winning ways.

“Hopefully we can start to turn things around this weekend.”
