FRANK Wrathall continued his excellent debut season in the British Touring Car Championships in the latest round at Rockingham last weekend.
The 24-year-old former Lancaster Royal Grammar School pupil added two more podiums at the Northamptonshire venue, including a best-ever finish of second.
This year was seen as something of a development year for the Garstang racer as he drives a Next Generation Touring Car, a car that is seen as the future of Touring Cars but one that is far from the finished article.
But Wrathall has stood out in his black and orange Dynojet Toyota Avensis, mixing it at the front of the field with Touring Car veterans Jason Plato, Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal.
The weekend could have been even more groundbreaking for Wrathall who came close to winning race two, finishing just three tenths of a second behind race winner and joint championship leader Shedden.
