Torrisholme made it two wins out of two to start the new Palace Shield Division One season as they successfully chased down a rain-adjusted total at Eccleston.

Winning the toss Matt Jackson elected to bowl, the hosts making 123-6 before the rain came.

David Hewson (48) top scored for Eccleston with Graham Lee (4-37) once again doing the damage with the ball.

The visitors’ target was adjusted to 130 from 41 overs with Adam Bee (38) and James Ferguson (30) exploding into action.

Even with a little wobble Chris Parry (19) and Daniel Woods (21) took the score to 100 before Karl Hansson and Jack Andreae got Torrisholme over the line.

Matt Jackson’s men welcome Wrea Green to Boundary Meadow next Saturday.
