Table Tennis: Second place still within reach for Bulldogs

Trimpell Bulldogs hung on to their faint hopes of second place in the Lancaster Morecambe Table Tennis League Premier Division when Phil Goymer, Alan Holt and Jerad Holmes collected consolation points losing 25-15 to Garstang Annihilators.

Raptors have an unassailable lead with Trimpell City and the Garstang first teams in contention.

Garstang Cowboys with Owen Bendall, Tommy Kennedy and Tom Clark are battling for mid table positions with St Lukes B who had Matt Price and Matt and James Neal collecting 15 points for the Saints to maintain their higher position.

In the Championship Division 3-1-5 TT continued their drive up the table winning 19-17 at home to the University Vipers.

Barry Dobson and David Gott won the crucial doubles to give the home team a narrow win.

Morecambe have been busy with mixed fortunes first up was a home win against champions elect, Barbarians, when Adam Ordenez, Abhinav Sinha and Ken Richardson took the home team to a 21-13 win which included Ordenez and Sinha winning the doubles.

This match was closely followed by a 28-15 drubbing in the local derby match with MCHS Aces.

Matthew Knowles-Cooke won man of the match with three singles victories including defeating his regular coach Richardson.
