Carnforth Otters swimmer Sophie Casson drew the curtains on the British Gas ASA National Masters and Senior Age Group Championships 2013 in style, posting a new World Record time of 4:15.74 in the 25-29yrs 400m Freestyle.
Sophie has been back training with Otters since she retired two and a half years ago, this was her first competitive meet since then.
Smashing the old record by 3.5 seconds, Sophie was delighted by her incredible performance.
Sophie joined Carnforth Otters as a young girl and then went on to study and train Loughborough University where she represented Great Britain on many occasions.
Sophie retired after just missing out on a place in the GB Olympic team for the 10km open water event in London 2012.
As well as training with Otters, Sophie also leads the land training session for the older swimmers who appreciate how incredibly lucky they are to have such a talented swimmer within the club.
