Silverdale won the toss and asked Warton to bat first in a rain affected game that was reduced to 35 overs per side.

After a delayed start Warton lost a wicket to the very first ball of the day as Pemberton went for a golden duck.

However the ever reliable Ryan Nelson began to dismantle the bowling attack and made the most of the short boundary, going on to score and excellent 83.

Graeme Crowther (49 no) and Stuart Mayor (27 no) hit some lusty blows as Warton closed on an excellent 206-6.

Credit to Silverdale who flew out of the traps in reply and raced to 103 without loss as Hargreaves and Dodds both scored half centuries.

The game was very much in the balance but Graeme Crowther took the wicket of Hargreaves and Nelson bowled Dodds to get Warton back in the game.

Silverdale still chased down the target as Warton picked up wickets as Crowther finished with 3-63 but Silverdale were to finish short on 196-9 as Warton had three balls to try and get the win.

A winning draw for Warton and 10 points, a fantastic game of cricket between these two old rivals.
