Morecambe Car Club fielded two co-drivers on Saturday’s Thistle Hotels Highland Car Club Snowman Rally.

Bolton-le-Sands’ Phil Sandham was co-driving for Scot Andrew Gallacher in a Mitsubishi Evo9 with Bare’s Tom Woodburn alongside Dean Ross in a Subaru Impreza.

The rally HQ was in Inverness and attracted a quality entry of 123 crews - the route consisting of five special stages varying from six miles to more than 12 over the un-surfaced tracks of the forests of northern Scotland.

Andrew and Phil took their Mitsubishi to a superb class win and 12th overall, while Dean and Tom had a steady run to bring their Subaru home in 47th overall.

It was a pleasant change for Tom who experienced a huge accident in a similar car only two weeks ago during the Riponian Rally.
