Lancaster Tennis Club’s Under 17s had a busy day on Saturday with two fixtures to fit in.

They started off at 10am at Lunesdale Tennis Club in Caton with a local league match.

Captain James Main won his match after a close tie break and there was an excellent pair of wins from new signing Oliver MacNeil, who paired up with Ronan McGrath, for a tie break doubles victory.

The Lunesdale captain Elliot Gardner was on fire as he earned two rubbers for his side to force a 3-3 draw.

For the evening match in the Fylde League at the Ansdell Arena in Lytham, Elliot transferred his allegiance back to Lancaster, and led the squad to a fantastic 6-0 victory.

Dan Main, Reuben Orr and Ronan McGrath also won all their matches in straight sets.

All the boys won their doubles matches comfortably as Lancaster pushed seven points clear of rivals Hambleton in the battle for the title.

The Under 14s team battled it out against Moorlands at home.

Three close singles matches for captain Joel McAllister, Jacob Orr and Niall Bowman all ended in tight third set tiebreakers with Moorlands just clinching the wins.

Joel and Jacob fought back in their doubles match after losing the first set to win a nail-biting tie break in the third set.
