City of Lancaster Gymnastics and Trampolining Club has reached new heights over the last few months.

For the first time in the club’s history two of their elite acrobatic gymnasts qualified for the 11 to 16 Women’s Pairs Finals at the Pat Wade Classic British Open Tournament.

Yvette Evans and Edie Gilgun May came away with an excellent seventh place at the Fenton Manor Leisure Centre in Stoke-On-Trent as British Gymnastics welcomed teams from France, Australia, Germany, the USA and Belgium for the competition.

Elsewhere, the club’s display squad, Revelation, won Best Overall Display at the Leeds Gymnastics Festival and a coach of 36 gymnasts travelled north to East Kilbride in Scotland and came home with 14 gold, 11 silver and eight bronze medals from their competition.

The club, in partnership with the University of Cumbria, run gymnastics and trampolining sessions for children aged two upwards.
