Lancaster City’s new water polo season gets underway this weekend.

Head coach Zak Sly leads his men into battle against Bristol and City of Sheffield this Saturday and Sunday respectively as the new British Water Polo League season begins at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.

Last year Lancaster finished second after losing out to Cheltenham by just two goals in their final games.

The twelve-time champions will this year be hoping to add to their glittering roll of honour that also includes nine British Championships.

Sly, in his second season at the helm, will welcome back Chris Hartley and James Wannop while three new juniors Stefano Cossutti, Jordan Titley and Alex Armstrong will make the step up to senior water polo.

England and Great Britain stars Tom Curwen, Glen Robinson and Alex Parsonage will once again be key for Lancaster.
