Lancaster Nomads’ first team continued their winning run with a 4-2 victory over Longridge in the Lancashire Women’s Hockey Association Division One.
Longridge had the better start, scoring first and pressing Nomads’ defence.
Hazel Irwin equalised with a penalty corner strike before Toni Fagin’s pacey drive down the wing set up Amy Leck to put the Nomads 2-1 in front at half time.
After the break Irwin drove into the ‘D’ and put through Leck to score with a reverse stick sweep.
Longridge continued to press Nomads’ defence and scored their second goal from a good counter attacking move.
Leck was on hand the seal the victory and her hat-trick however, despatching a powerful penalty corner strike.
Nomads remain second but face a tough challenge when they play third in the table Springfields on Saturday.
The Nomads’ second team lost 6-3 to Lancaster 4s who kept up their promotion push in the Lancaster Central Women’s Hockey Association Division 3.
