On Saturday, October 13, local boy Remi McVey (age 11) and Ethan King (age 11) both of Windermere and Lancaster Shotokan Karate Club travelled to Alnwick to participate in the black belt grading, under the watchful eye of Sensei Andy Sherry 8th Dan and Sensei Bob Rhodes 7th Dan.

After a gruelling one and half hour training session in the morning they broke for dinner, before returning to the grading course which took over 3 hours to complete.

Both the students successfully completed the syllabus and with over 50 people taking part, only 22 were successful.

Both of the boys have been training hard for over 5 years to reach the pinacle of their sporting career and would like to thank all at Windermere and Lancaster Shotokan Karate Club for their kind support throughout the years.

In particular the support given by Sensei Keith Robson 5th Dan and Sensei Mike Jones 2nd Dan.
