Wet weather put pay to Morecambe and Lancaster’s hopes of kickstarting their seasons at the weekend.

Morecambe’s trip to Netherfield and Lancaster’s visit of Fleetwood were both washed out in the Northern Premier League Division One on Saturday.

The reverse second XI fixtures were also called off.

The Lune Road side had also been due to kick off their Lancashire Cup campaign on Sunday at Bolton League side Little Lever but will have to try again on Sunday, May 25.

Both are yet to win this season in the league with Lancaster travelling to Blackpool and Morecambe hosting Chorley this Saturday, May 17.

In the only game to beat the weather on Saturday, Blackpool beat Barrow by 58 runs.
