Lancaster Cricket Club travel to Blackpool this weekend hoping to get their season properly up and running.

The Lune Road side have not won in the Northern League this season and have seen their last three games in all competitions called off.

Wet weather meant their league clash at Fleetwood on Saturday and their Lancashire Cup tie at Bolton League side Little Lever the following day were abandoned.

That comes after the controversial cancellation of their bank holiday Monday game with Chorley after the Lune Road pitch was deemed ‘unfit’ for play.

Both sides were awarded four points after the umpires’ decision but Chorley have decided to appeal the decision to declare the game void.

The matter is set to be considered by the Northern League executive within the next couple of weeks.

Elsewhere, the county cup tie at Little Lever has been moved to Sunday, May 25.

Lancaster 1st XI v Blackpool: Simm (capt), Heywood, Welbourne, Burstow, Swarbrick, Conroy, Metcalfe, Sparks, Perrieman, Moffat, Barry.

2nd XI v Blackpool home: K Moffat (capt), J Davies, Carter, Andreae, Gambuge, Baxter, Liver, S Armstrong, M Armstrong, McGinley, Da Silva.
