City of Lancaster Triathlon’s Paul Tynan and Amie McAvoy represented Team GB in the ETU European Duathlon Championships last Sunday in Madrid.

Horrendous weather conditions made the event, especially 40km cycle ride, even more challenging.
Local GP Paul excelled however and won the bronze medal in his age group. Amie started well but was forced to pull out during the cycle section as the weather deteriorated further.

Three City of Lancaster Triathlon juniors competed in the annual British Modern Triathlon Championships in Solihull.

Emma Whittaker, 13, Isabelle Woodman, 13, and Tim Woodman, 11, took part in the event which included a swim, static shoot and combined shoot and run.

In the under 15 girls Isabelle finished fifth while in the under 13 boys Tim was fourth.

Emma competed in the under 17 girls finishing in the final podium position in third.

Closer to home at the Kendal Junior Aquathlon, a swim and run, 10-year-old Jack Collet took Silver in the Tristar 1 race with Anan Tiger Clark fifth.

In the girls Tristar 1 race Rhianna Sisson was fourth and Olivia Goddard ninth.
