Dave Chisnall will kick off this season’s Premier League Darts next month.
The Morecambe ace plays in the opening match of the 2014 competition when he takes on Robert Thornton at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on February 6.
Chisnall was selected as part of the 10-man field for the lucrative event after an impressive season that has seen him rise to number five in the world.
He faces former UK Open champion Thornton on the opening night, before facing fellow newcomer and world championship finalist Peter Wright in week two at Bournemouth’s BIC.
Chizzy then has the tough challenge of taking on new world and reigning Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen in week three at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast before travelling to Glasgow’s Hydro to face Gary Anderson.
Another highlight in the opening nine weeks for Chisnall sees a repeat of the 2013 World Grand Prix final when the Morecambe ace takes on Phil Taylor at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena.
The opening night on Merseyside will also feature a rematch of last year’s final between van Gerwen and Taylor.
The first nine league nights will see the 10 players face each other once each before the bottom two players are eliminated following “Judgement Night” in Cardiff on April 3.
The remaining eight players will then meet once more in the final six weeks, before the top four progress to compete in the play-offs at The O2 in London on Thursday, May 22.
All nights will be screened live on Sky Sports.
