Kirkby made the more positive start against Broughton Park when scrum half Ben Walker darted through a group of defenders to score a try after only three minutes.
Tom Pickthall’s conversion attempt drifted past the posts but Kirkby were ahead 0-5.
Park had chances but it was twenty minutes before they registered a score when they narrowed the gap to 3-5 with a penalty.
Park were settling and after they had driven deep into Kirkby territory they released the ball and put their number nine over in the corner, no conversion and the score was 8-5 to the home team.
Right on half time Park scored again with a converted try and they scored again early in the second half to extend their lead to 20-5.
Park began to turn the screw with another unconverted try and then added a fifth try to take the score to 32-5.
Stuart Storey did give Kirkby the last say with a try to make the final score 32-10 but by this time it was job done for the home side.
