Lancaster City’s joint managers are heading to Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night to watch England take on Brazil.

Neil Wainwright and Michael Stringfellow will join two other Evo-Stik Northern Premier League bosses in recognition of their work in promoting the Football League’s Respect campaign towards match officials.

The marquee friendly is part of the FA’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

Wainwright said: “It’s going to be good.

“I’ve never been to the new Wembley and I’ve wanted to watch Brazil having loved them since I was a kid.

“I’m told we’re being invited because of our behaviour in the technical area.

“Figures went out at the end of January that show we’re top of the table for our conduct.

“We always try to be respectful. You’re always going to contest decisions but if you talk in the right manner to officials then they talk in the right manner back. “I think then they’re more likely to explain their decisions.”

The Northern Premier League’s respect manager Phil Bradley said: “We felt it important to acknowledge the part managers had played in our successful Respect Programme and decided to offer the tickets we had won to the best management teams in each division as a thank you for their efforts.

“It is also an incentive and encouragement to management teams to keep up the good work and to acknowledge the part they have played in improving standards within the technical area.”

Under previous boss Tony Hesketh The Dolly Blues were top of the Evo-Stik First Division North fair play table last season and won the FA’s National Respect Award in 2011.

AFC Fylde’s Dave Challinor and Rainworth Miners Welfare’s Kevin Gee will also be guests at the game.
