Three members of Lancaster City ASWPC travelled to Wirral for the first aquathlon of the series.
First off was Larissa Hannam (10) who had to swim 250m and then run 2000m, staying close to the lead swimmers, Larissa exited the pool in third place and stayed with them on the run to finish in third place overall.
Larissa’s brother Shea Hannam (13) had to swim 400m and run 3000m, he exited the pool in fifth position making up places on the run to give him third place overall. It was a different story for sister Georgia Hannam (15) who was now at the top end of her age group, having to swim 500m and run 3600m, Georgia exited the pool in second place, stepping up the pace for the run finishing in first place over two and a half minutes in front of her nearest competitor.
The team then travelled to Leigh at the weekend for the second aquathlon of the series, this time Georgia finished her race in first place with a time of 24:30 just under four and a half minutes in front of the other competitors.
