Slyne-with-Hest host Garstang in a big West Lancashire Premier Division derby on Saturday.
Slyne will be looking for a measure of revenge after the Riversiders won the reverse fixture 1-0 on August 19, Liam Breslin scoring the only goal of the game against his former club.
The hosts warmed up for the game against their near rivals with a fine 2-1 win at Fulwood Amateurs on Saturday.
Tom Entwistle and Jimmy Love helped Ian Roe’s side into a 2-0 half-time lead with Mitch Newsham pulling a late goal back from the penalty spot.
Garstang also enter the game in good form after a 4-2 win at home to Hesketh Bank.
A Breslin brace and a goal from strike partner Max Landless put Neil Crossley’s men in control at 3-0.
But two goals in four minutes after the break from Jon Stead made it game on with Alex Hay’s goal 13 minutes from time needed to make sure of the three points.
The results mean the sides have made an almost identical start to the new season with Garstang in eighth and Slyne ninth both having 10 points from their opening seven games of the new season.
Saturday’s clash at Bottomdale Road is a 3pm kick-off with all fans welcome.
