Former England international Trevor Sinclair is the new Lancaster City assistant manager.

The remarkable coup for the Dolly Blues will see the 41-year-old link up with his former Queens Park Rangers team mate, Darren Peacock, the Giant Axe head coach.

Sinclair picked up 12 caps for his country between 2001 and 2003, impressing at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.

The winger played for Blackpool, QPR, West Ham, Manchester City and Cardiff during his playing career before retiring in 2008.

A statement on the Lancaster City website said: “Lancaster City Football Club are pleased to announce that Trevor Sinclair, ex-England international, Manchester City and QPR, has agreed to join Darren Peacock as his assistant manager.”
