Lancaster City ended 2013 on a high note with victory over Ossett Town at Giant Axe on Saturday.
Goals from Dolly Blues strike duo Jordan Connerton and Mark Jackson were enough for the three points in this Evo-Stik First Division North clash.
Connerton’s early neat finish just inside the box gave City the lead before Ossett equalised through Ryan Qualter’s header in first-half injury time.
In an entertaining game City had numerous chances to score and Jackson tucked in a shot off the post from the edge of the box after being set up by Josh Donnelly to regain the lead.
Simon Wearing and Rob Walker both then saw efforts well saved by ‘keeper Sam Dodds as the Dolly Blues searched for a third.
Connerton almost grabbed his second late in the game but hit the post on a quick Lancaster counter attack as City held on for the three points.
