POPULAR Lancaster City winger Mike Rushton will not be with the club next season.

City boss Tony Hesketh has revealed that the wide man’s work commitments mean he will not be a part of the Dolly Blues squad for the upcoming campaign.

Hesketh said: “Mike Rushton will be leaving us. His work commitments mean his availability will be restricted. Away games will be impossible for him.

“He has been a good servant for the last three or four years even if injuries did hinder his progress.”

Despite the absence of Rushton, the Dolly Blues boss was pleased with what he saw when the players returned to pre-season training on Tuesday with several new faces involved.
