Lancaster City boss Phil Brown says his players need no motivating ahead of Tuesday night’s derby with Kendal Town.

Players have frequently moved between the two Evo-Stik First Division North clubs down the years but this season it has reached new heights.

Of City’s squad that drew 2-2 with Northwich Victoria on Saturday Rob Henry, Tom Watson, Tom Kilifin, Craig Carney, Zach Clark, Terry Cummings and Aaron Taylor have all featured for Kendal this season.

Off-the-field problems have since hit the Parkside Road club who are 15th in the table, five places and 11 points behind the Dolly Blues.

Ahead of the game at Giant Axe, Brown said: “On Tuesday I don’t think I need to do a team talk with all the toing and froing there’s been between the teams.

“Derbies are derbies. We’ll have to roll our sleeves up to pick up the three points.

“We need them if we want to stay in and around the play-off places.”

Kick-off is 7.45pm.
