This past week just shows how tight the play-off race is going to be.

With two big wins we’ve jumped upto fifth in the table into the final play-off place.

We’ve now got a couple of other teams in our sights after thinking it might just be between ourselves, Bamber Bridge and Ramsbottom for the final play-off place.

We’re three points above Brig and it’s a massive, massive game at their place on Saturday.

Both teams will be desperate to get the better of the other but we’re confident we can keep our momentum going because it’s a great time to be putting a run together.

We’ve seen in the past how teams can make a late run into the play-offs and end up being the one that gets promoted.

Looking back, Darlington was probably our best performance of the season last Wednesday night.

They threw a lot at us but we soaked it up and looked dangerous when we went forward.

Everyone from one to 11 and the subs played their part.

I think the thing was not to let them score early with the big crowd.

I can think of a few teams who might go there and disintegrate if they conceded an early goal but we frustrated them.

The result certainly made the long trip back on a Wednesday night feel a bit shorter.

Saturday’s game against Mossley was all about just getting the result.

We didn’t play as well as we did on Wednesday night and there was certainly a bit of a come down.

But all that mattered was getting the three points, and our third win in a row, to keep the run going ahead of a really big Lancashire derby.
