Things are a bit frustrating at the moment.
We’re still looking for our first win under the new manager (Phil Brown) and just need to grind out a couple of results to really get our season going.
It’s no good playing well and not getting the results.
We don’t mind how it comes we just need to go over the line for what would be a real confidence booster.
On Tuesday night at Trafford we went 1-0 up from the penalty spot but they scored a couple of quick goals which is something that is happening quite a bit at the moment and is really frustrating.
In the second half we did really well though and had a couple of goals disallowed.
I’m not really sure why they didn’t count, I’m don’t think anyone in the ground really knew.
It was a really encouraging performance though where we put them on the back foot for long periods.
It was just one of those nights where we didn’t get the goal our play deserved.
Saturday at Brighouse Town was pretty similar where we did really well in the second half.
The only difference was that Aaron Taylor got the late goal to seal a point.
It seems like we’ve had a lot of away games recently but we’re back at Giant Axe over the next week for games against Ossett Town and Clitheroe.
They’ll both be tough but we’ve got to make sure we do well in our home games, starting this Saturday.
Our cause has been helped by the news Mike Hale is staying put.
Kendal had been interested but it goes without saying how important it is for us to keep someone who was named as the best goalkeeper in the division last season.
It’s good news for everybody at Giant Axe.
