I don’t really look at the league but I did after our game on Saturday.

The way we’re going there is no reason why we can’t finish second in the table.

Warrington (in second) have drawn a couple and other teams are losing around us, too.

We just need to keep winning games and then see what happens. That starts this Saturday when Bamber Bridge visit Giant Axe.

I said a few weeks ago that the two derbies against Brig would play a big part in where we ended up this season and after winning at Irongate that looks like being the case.

Another victory on Saturday would put a big gap between us and help us keep the pressure up on the sides above us.

It was difficult conditions last Saturday at Radcliffe and we weren’t sure whether the game was going to go ahead but the referee was happy to play.

The first half was probably one of our best of the season and we could have scored even more goals.

We did have the wind and a bit of a slope and it’s a bit of a cliché but it was a game of two halves.

Sadly, people aren’t going to be talking about it as a game of football
after what happened off the field.

The story has spread far and wide and it’s disappointing because it was our sixth win in a row and a really good display.

But the result isn’t what has come out of the game for many people and that’s a shame.
