Neil Marshall column: It’s all about building momentum

It may not have been particularly flashy but the win on Saturday was a really satisfying one .

To be fair to them, Harrogate Railway Athletic came and set up with 10 men behind the ball which made them really difficult to break down.

It is really hard when teams are that well organised and that’s some times why we struggle on home soil at Giant Axe.

I do think we’re more of a counter-attacking team with the pace we’ve got in our young team.

That’s why it was great to grind out a 1-0 win in the way we did as Killer (Tom Kilifin) continued his form in front of goal.

We’ve won three on the trot now in the league and are four unbeaten so there’s really some momentum building.

If we can continue as we have been, with two more games to come this week, we can put ourselves in a decent position to hopefully really push on.

We’ve had a free midweek this week but the games now really start to come thick and fast.

It’s going to be tough but it’s the same for everybody. If anything we maybe even got a couple more games in than other teams during the bad weather over Christmas and New Year.

Before we’re back home against Burscough on Tuesday night we head to Ossett Albion on Saturday.

They’ve often struggled but have really improved this season and are up to fourth in a wide-open play-off picture.

It’s about us though and with our recent form we go into the game full of confidence knowing we’ve got that it takes to pick up all three points.
