Lancaster City were comfortable 2-0 winners over Brighouse Town at Giant Axe on Saturday.

Goals from returning captain Neil Marshall and Aaron Taylor either side of half-time saw Darren Peacock’s side pick up their fourth league win of the season and move up to 10th in the Evo-Stik First Division North.

As on several occasions this season City missed chances to make the game safe and run away with the scoreline but can take plenty of positives from a battling display.

Peacock next takes his side to Bamber Bridge on Tuesday night for a big Lancashire derby.

Brig have recently added former Preston North End midfielder Paul McKenna to their ranks.

This Saturday the Dolly Blues then travel to Evo-Stik Premier Division side King’s Lynn Town in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

The club are running a supporters’ coach to both games.
