LEE Dodgson is staying at Lancaster City.
Dolly Blues boss Tony Hesketh last week told the Lancaster Guardian that the forward had offers to leave the club.
But the former Morecambe and Fleetwood man has now committed himself to the Giant Axe cause.
Hesketh, who believes Dodgson can fill the void left by last season’s top goalscorer Dave Swarbrick, said: “I’m pleased to say Lee Dodgson has committed himself to the club.
“He did have other offers but I don’t think he really considered them. It’s a real bonus for us, I think he’ll score 20 or 25 goals for us this season.”
Dodgson has however been struggling with injury and has only made brief appearances as City won their opening two games of the season, 3-1 away at Farsley on Saturday and 1-0 at home to Rhodri Giggs’ Salford on Tuesday night.
Hesketh said: “It was a nervous first 20 minutes at Farsley but we got a foothold in the game and had a couple of chances.
“It was a poor defensive mistake for their goal early in the second half but in the last 40 minutes of the game we were very dangerous.”
