ZACH Clark and Craig Carney have pledged their futures to Lancaster City.
Winger Clark and central midfielder Carney have featured in the Dolly Blues’ pre-season campaign but had offers from other clubs on the table.
However City boss Tony Hesketh has told the Lancaster Guardian the pair will be an important part of his squad next season.
He said: “They’ve both committed themselves to the club.
“They’ve acquitted themselves very well in the friendlies and Zach Clark will be an excellent replacement for Mike Rushton. He’s an exciting prospect for Lancaster City fans.”
The City manager added that although no other deals were imminent, he hoped there would be some activity before the season starts on August 13.
He said: “We’re still working. There are one or two irons in the fire but we’re playing the waiting game at the moment. I’d expect there to be some activity a week or two before the season starts.”
