Lancaster City continue their pre-season campaign at West Lancashire Premier Division side Euxton Villa on Thursday night.

The Dolly Blues travel to the Jim Fowler Memorial Fields in a 7.15pm kick-off having lost their opening pre-season game 4-3 to local rivals Garstang on Saturday.

In a game played over three 30-minute periods the Blues goals came from Aaron Taylor, debutant Josh Draycott against his former club and Billy Akrigg.

Adam Roskell, Matthew Poole, McGahon and Gary Louth got the goals for Iain Swan’s victors in a game played at Lancaster University.

Despite obvious frustrations about the result, Darren Peacock was largely pleased with what he saw from his side.

He said: “Overall the Garstang game was okay.

“I’m obviously not pleased about the result but it was a good workout.

“A lot of people are comparing it to last season when we went unbeaten for so long which is a good problem to have created for ourselves.”

After the Euxton game, City travel to Bangor City on Saturday, July 26 before hosting Barrow at Giant Axe on Tuesday, July 29.

Peacock said: “Those three games are quite tight together so we’ll be mixing and matching a bit.

“We want to go out and win but it’s about relationships developing.”
