Away form worries City boss

LANCASTER City boss Tony Hesketh is “extremely worried” about his side’s away form after the Dolly Blues lost their first three games on the road in 2011.

City followed up a New Year’s Day defeat at Trafford with 2-1 defeats at Warrington on Saturday and Cammell Laird on Tuesday.

Their solitary win of the year so far came at home to Woodley Sports on January 3.

Hesketh said: “I’m extremely worried about our away form. No one would have expected to have lost three games like that but it can happen in this league.

“We have had a bad week, there’s no two ways about it. We should have drawn both games but have lost out to penalties in the last ten minutes of both games.

“We’ve lost our impetus but we’ve got to come through this sticky spell and pick ourselves up for the Garforth game on Saturday.”

Hesketh believes his side were unlucky to lose at Cammell Laird, a side managed by former City great Tony Sullivan.
