Morecambe have made Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Peter Murphy their third summer signing.
The former Accrington man has agreed a two-year deal at the Globe Arena and will add steel and goals in the middle of the park when he joins on July 1.
The 25-year-old arrived at Adams Park last summer from Stanley and helped Gareth Ainsworth’s side to the League 2 play-off final where he scored in the penalty shoot-out before Southend went onto win and seal their place in League 1 next season.
The Liverpudlian has however been allowed to leave 12 months into a two-year contract and was quickly snapped up by Jim Bentley.
The Shrimps boss has already sealed deals for wide men Tom Barkhuizen and Lee Molyneux ahead of the new campaign having set a target of six new faces.
